Considering there are about 5 crore gifted children in the nation, the demand for efficient mentorship initiatives is more urgent than earlier. These initiatives can significantly contribute to meet the unique needs of gifted students by offering them special assistance, enriched learning experiences, and emotional encouragement.

Gifted students in India frequently face a difficult educational environment. Conventional education systems often neglect the problems of these students, resulting in them feeling alone and unchallenged. Since these students have outstanding skills and talents, they need customised assistance that can aid them in successfully managing their academic paths. Mentorship initiatives arise as an essential answer to close this divide, providing organised support and tools that enable gifted students to excel both in their studies and in life. By linking these students with knowledgeable mentors who recognise their potential and challenges, mentorship programs can greatly improve their educational experiences and future success.   • Emotional Support: A notable 65% stated that having a mentor offered them emotional support during challenging times linked to their studies or personal issues. 
  • Future Goals: More than 60% of respondents indicated that mentorship had a beneficial impact on their career goals by exposing them to different professional areas via networking opportunities. 
  • Requirement for Additional Programs: An impressive 85% indicated a wish for increased organised mentorship schemes in schools aimed particularly at academically gifted students. 

The survey underscores the critical role that mentorship plays not just in enhancing academic performance but also in fostering emotional well-being and social connections among gifted youth.
